Gandhi 150: Lecture, photo exhibition held

Manipur Sarvodaya Mandal has organised a lecture on Gandhi and his relevance in present Indian scenario and released a book titled "Bapujigee Nungai Nungairaba Wari Vol-II" today at Manipur Hindi Parishad, Old Assembly Road, Imphal.
The book was written by Sane Gurujee and translated by TD Ngangomba.
A photo exhibition on Gandhi was also organised as a part of the event held in connection with the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi.
Mohan Prakash, former general secretary of AICC, Dr Konsam Himalay Singh, former Lt Gen of Indian Army and Chairman of MPSC, Professor Wahengbam Chandbabu of Manipur Institute of Management Studies, MU, Dr Irom Gambhir Singh, Head Department of English and Cultural Studies, Dr Potshangbam Milan Khangamcha of Department of Philosophy, MU, K Chaoba Singh, president Manipur Library Association, Kshetrimayum Shanta, social worker, Mayanglambam Khelendro Singh, vice president Apunba Emagi Macha Sing and Dilip Mayengbam, Director All India Radio attended the event as presidium members.
13 achievers and eminent personalities in different fields including Dr Ch Jamini and Professor Ksh Bimola were awarded and honoured.
Speaking at the event about the various journeys Gandhi took, Dr Irom Gambhir said learning and understanding spiritual and moral values are keys to moving forward as a develop society.
