Imphal, March 09 2019:
Parents Teachers' Association (PTA), St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Sangaiprou, has appealed to all the authorities concerned to bring an amicable solution on the protracted disagreement between the authorities of four mission schools in the State and KCP (People's War Group) so that normal academic atmosphere can be restored at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, today, PTA secretary M Subashchandra lamented that students studying in four mission schools, namely St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Sangaiprou, Little Flower School, Ghari, Nirmalabas High School, MG Avenue and Catholic School, Canchipur, were forced to stop going to schools owing to the disagreement between the school authorities and KCP (Progressive War Group) .
He further informed that the parents of the students studying in the said mission schools have also stopped their children from going to school in fear of the constant threat served by KCP (People's War Group) to the respective school authorities and to the van drivers operating for the schools since the month of February this year.
Maintaining that schools are sacred places for the students and the society, the secretary went on to appeal all concerned to help in maintaining sanctity in the said schools.
He also drew the attention of the student organizations in the State and all those concerned towards restoring normalcy in the four mission schools while claiming that PTA is ready to help if there is any requirements for its involvement in the effort to bring a solution on the disagreement between the school authorities and the outfit.
