Imphal, August 03 2018:
As part of the first phase of its Nationwide campaign to highlight the 4 years of misrule by the NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CPI Manipur State Council organized a public meeting today at Keishampat Yumjao Lairembi, Imphal West.
Many CPI leaders highlighted the misdeeds and misrule of the NDA Government during the past four years and also criticized the policies and failures of schemes taken up by the BJP led Governments in the Centre as well as in the State.
Speaking at the function, All Manipur Nupi Marup general secretary L Sumati Devi lambasted that the BJP led Governments in the Centre as well as in the State for claiming through media that they have taken the country forward despite the abject failure to fulfil many of their promises and assurances.
She pointed out that many educated youths are desperate as they are jobless after they obtained degrees from reputed colleges.
She said that many educated youths are being compelled to work in pakora hotels, tea stalls and do menial works after they acquired high profile education from prestigious institutions although Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured of providing jobs to the youth in the country before election.
The prices of essential items and oil have escalated continuously and its brunt is being borne by the farmers and poor people of the country.
The introduction of GST and demonetization in the country have only made the common people suffer untold misery and even death.
However, the promise of Narendra Modi to bring back black money stashed in foreign countries and give them to poor people has only turned out to be a deceitful promise as the black money has only turned white money now.
The economic policy of the NDA Government is making the country a paradise for corporate people but it has put India in the 100th position in the International Global Hunger Index, 2018, a sharp decline from its previous position of 95th.Besides, the country's rank in the Human Development Index has declined to 130th, she added.
She also noted that the BJP led coalition Government in the State has made the people of the State bear the brunt of its failures in handling various issues.
Although the Government in the State is doing a lot of publicity works, little developmental works are not seen on ground, she continued.
