Counting of votes to be webcast

The Counting of votes of the recently held Manipur State Assembly election will be webcast, thereby enabling the people to witness the process live through the internet.
According to report received from the State Election office, activities in all the 18 counting rooms will be webcast.
The live video of the counting process will be available over the Internet till the counting of votes is completed.
Uploading of the results as soon as the counting of votes starts will also be considered.
The report further revealed that the ECI has advised the State Election office for video recording every counting table.
Consequently, all necessary measures for video recording of every counting table have been taken up.
All the officers who are to be engaged in the counting will be trained under the Returning Officers, the source added.
The counting of votes in Imphal East will be done in three counting rooms located inside the complex of DC office Porompat and in the training hall of DIC, Imphal East.
In Imphal West, the counting will be done in four counting rooms at DC office complex, Lamphelpat.
The counting of votes in Bishnupur district will be done in the Mini Secretariat complex in two rooms while the counting of votes in Thoubal will be carried out in two rooms located inside the DC office complex.
In Chandel district, the counting of votes will be done in two rooms at the Chandel Mini Secretariat.
In Ukhrul, counting will be carried out in two rooms in Ukhrul Mini Secretariat while the counting in Tamenglong will be carried out in the Indoor Stadium.
In Senapati, it will be done in the community hall, Senapati and the counting in Churachandpur will be done in the District Training Centre Complex hall.
For Kangpokpi sub-division, the counting will be done in Kangpokpi ADC complex while the counting of votes in Jiribam sub-division will be done in Jiribam ADC complex hall.
