AR saves two snake bite victims

Timely medical attention given by troops of Assam Rifles saved the lives of two including a 75 year old woman.
The 28 AR said that they saved the life of Anoujam Anou (75) of Lilong Chajing who was bitten by a venomous snake in her left ankle while she was working in her garden today around 8.30 am.
She was brought to the 28 AR Lilong post where first aid was given at 9.15 am by nurses of the staff post.
Timely treatment saved the life of the person who was in dire straits, the statement said informing that the troops were thanked by relatives of Anoujam Anou.
The medical team of 30 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) also saved life of a girl bitten by a venomous snake late last night.
The victim, Jasoda Thapa (17) of AT line, Mantripukhri was brought to the Unit Hospital of the troops in a critical condition.
The victim was immediately administered life saving anti venom medication and was able to save the life of the girl, the statement said.
