Meet on plebiscite call continues

The issue of Manipur-India conflict and people's participation in resolving the impasse was deliberated in yet another public meeting held at Keibul Lamjao Awang Club ground today.
The meeting was organised by Keibul Lamjao Youth Sporting and Cultural Association.
Keibul Awang Leikai Meira Paibi Lup secretary Khwairakpam Thambalmani, Keibul Makha Leikai Meira Paibi Lup president Ningthoujam Mema, Sagram Meira Paibi Lup secretary Moirangthem Mangollei were the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively of the meeting.
The meeting resolved that plebiscite must be conducted to pave the way of people's participation in resolving the conflict between India and Manipur.
The gathering also decided to send the resolution of the meeting to the United Nations.
Speaking at the meeting, Advocate Yumnam Ratan observed that Manipur-India conflict is the outcome of the 'forced' annexation of Manipur to the Indian Union.

people of Manipur have not been able to live in a secured environment even though they lived a peaceful life before the annexation, he added.
Maintaining that the conflict must be resolved at the right time and place, Advocate Ratan opined that plebescite is the right step to resolve it.
Another speaker, Y Dhiren remembered that Manipuri people fought unitedly against the Burmese aggressors to regain their lost territory during Seven Years Devastation.
Y Dhiren called on the people of Manipur for such a unity to resolve the present conflict.
