Orgs, clubs stage sit-ins, demand lasting solutions to multiple issues

Women Star Club, Lamjing Meira Club, Langjing Achouba Women's Welfare Association and Langjing Achouba Imphal West today staged sit-ins denouncing the Framework Agreement between the Government of India and NSCN (IM), border dispute with Myanmar and impasse in Manipur University.
The sit-ins at Langjing Achouba Mamang Leikai, Langjing Achouba Maning Leikai and Langjing Achouba Awang Leikai demanded an early solution to the impasse in the Manipur University which have clouded career of many students of the State.
The students' demand and grievances should be heard in time.
The VC must be removed, demanded the protesters.
The sit-ins demanded strong actions with firm stand from the State Government regarding the "possible extension" of Article 371 (A) of the Constitution of India to other State.
Peace talks should not aim at breaking the unity and harmony of different communities of the State.
We do not want another June 18.The State Government and the Central Government should work to avoid another June 18, said Elanmgbam Shanti, secretary of Langjing Achouba Women's Welfare Association at the sit-in protest at Langjing Achouba Awang Leikai.
The protesters appealed the State Government to bring long lasting solutions to the multiple issues at the earliest for lasting peace and harmony in the State.
