No let up in ILP demand, sit-ins staged at different parts

The ongoing demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State has been intensified along with massive sit-in-protests staged under the aegis of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) at different parts of the State.
Exerting pressure on the Government to take a definite stand on implementing Inner Line Permit System to save the indigenous people from the onslaught of unrestraint influx of outsiders, several meira paibi organizations of Lalambung Makhong, Imphal West district in collaboration with WACAK jointly staged a sit-in-protest at Lalambung Makhong Community Hall today.
Speaking to newspersons on the sideline of the protest demonstration, one of the Meira Paibi leaders said that the unregulated influx of non-locals into the State has posed a serious threat on the very existence of indigenous people.
She also decried the government for failing to take up necessary steps for curbing rampant influx of outsiders.

She went on to allege that all the 60 MLAs in the State are only concerned of their chairs and care nothing about the public demand for implementation of ILP system in the State even though they have adopted resolutions twice on the floor of the State Assembly.
Asserting that failure on part of the government to implement the restrictive system in the State despite passing of two resolutions in the Assembly earlier is a matter of great shame; the Meira Paibi leader pledged that women folks of the locality will fully endorse all steps taken up by JCILPS in connection with the ongoing movement for implementation of ILP system in the State.
She also demanded unconditional release of the women folks and students who were arrested in connection with the ongoing movement.
Also, demanding implementation of ILP system in the State at the earliest, women folks of Thnagmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai, Hijam Leikai and Lourungpurel Leikai who came out in large number to jointly stage a massive sit-in-protest demonstration at the ground of Thangmeiband NEO Club.
Similar sit-in-protests were also witnessed at Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai, Takyel Khongbal Maning Leikai, Kongpal Mayai Leikai, Wangkhei Pukhri Mapal, Checkon, Pheiyeng Awang Leikai, Heibongpokpi, Nagamapal Esing Chaibi, Singjamei, Kakwa, Keishamthong, Mayang Imphal, Kodompokpi Lamkhai, Waheng Khuman and Yairipok Singda.
