AR holds security meetings prior to Independence Day

Imphal, July 27 2018:
In view of the upcoming Independence Day celebration, "Security meets" we're conducted by the units of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) in various company operating bases on July 26 and 27 .
Keithelmanbi Battalion conducted the meet at Canchipur Company Operating Base in which a total of 45 persons including members of various clubs and Meira Paibis attended.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss all security aspects and necessary measures to be undertaken by locals in synergy with Assam Rifles.
The requirement of keeping tight vigil in the area in view of Independence Day was stressed upon.
Phundrei Battalion conducted the meet at Upper Khoripok Company Operating Base.
The meet was attended by the village chief, secretary and member of village Youth Club.
The attendees were briefed regarding the prevailing security situation and necessary cooperation required from the people to maintain peace in the area.
Meanwhile, Mantripukri Battalion conducted the meet at Sawombung Company Operating Base.
The forum was attended by approximately 52 people including Zila Parishad, village head and Meira Paibis.

Another Security meet was conducted at Hanuman Top Company Operating Base.
The meet was attended by 53 locals including village heads, Meera Paibis and Youth Club members.
The attendees were briefed regarding the prevailing security situation, keeping in mind the upcoming Independence Day, and were advised to report any suspicious activity in their village/ vicinity.
The Battalions provided this platform to the villagers to discuss their perspective of security situation in the area and to encourage them to come up with suggestions to improve synergy between Security Forces and the local populace.
