Imphal, November 14 2016:
Responding to the invitation of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Joint Secretary (North East in-charge) Satyendra Garg, United Naga Council (UNC) president Gaidon Kamei and general secretary S Milan today left Imphal for Delhi.
Satyendra Garg invited UNC over telephone last evening for a dialogue on the ongoing indefinite economic blockade imposed on National Highways which connect Manipur with the rest of the country.
The UNC has been imposing the economic blockade demanding the State Government to come out with a concrete clarification whether Sadar Hills would be declared as a full fledged district or not.

The UNC was also seeking the Centres intervention into the issue.
On account of the economic blockade imposed since November 1, all sections of people have been reeling under extreme hardship as the State has been facing acute shortage of essential commodities.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the UNC team would hold a meeting with MHA Joint Secretary Satyendra Garg at 11 am tomorrow.
Even though the UNC leaders are likely to raise some proposals, it looks like no officials of the Government of Manipur will take part in the meeting.
Nonetheless, if the two sides can strike an agreement, the 14 days old economic blockade is likely to be lifted.
On the other hand, in line with the State Governments decision to bring in stranded oil tankers and LPG bullet tankers along Imphal-Jiribam highway through Silchar, 45 empty oil tankers and 65 LPG bullet tankers left Imphal along Imphal-Jiribam highway with security escorts this morning.
The same escort team will bring back loaded oil tankers and LPG bullet tankers currently stranded at different places of Assam.
Sources informed that 15 tankers were loaded with petrol at Guwahati today while two other tankers were loaded with petrol at Silchar today before heading for Imphal.
Out of the 155 oil tankers stranded at Khatkhatti, two reached Jiribam today and they were heading for Imphal.
Meanwhile, CAF&PD Minister Ksh Biren reached Guwahati this afternoon to talk with oil tanker drivers who have been refusing to take Imphal-Jiribam route.
