Wounded man survives three days without food and water

Shillong, April 10 2012:
A critically wounded man survived for three days without food or water in a jungle near NEIGRIHMs in Shillong before being luckily rescued by a medical team of emergency service ambulance based at Shillong Civil Hospital on April 2, a delayed report said.
The man whose name is not revealed, had gone to shoot birds with a catapult in the jungle near NEIGRIHMs.
He had to climb a tree when a bird he had shot got stuck midway in the branches of the tree.
He had slipped and fallen from the tree and had hurt himself badly in the process rendering him to be unable to move.
Without any means of communication, he had been lying helpless for three days without food or water before being rescued by the ambulance team which was returning to Shillong after dropping a patient at NEIGRIHMs.
The man was reportedly wounded in the right leg which could not be moved and he also had wounds on his stomach.
The man was trying to crawl towards the road when the team in the ambulance saw him and rescued him from certain death.
After giving some first aid, the man narrated his story to his rescuers and he was admitted to NEIGRIHMs, Shillong.
