IPV & Pentavalent vaccine launched

Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner Hrisheekesh
Modak Arvind has launched the Pentavalent
vaccine, Inactivated Poliovirus Vaccine (IPV),
the switching from tOPV to bOPV at district
hospital conference hall, Ukhrul today, reports
Mungchan Zimik.
DC Hrisheekesh Modak said that Ukhrul
district has recorded low achievement in
terms of immunization.
The new immunization programme should
cover the whole district to protect the infants
from potentially deadly diseases.
He also
urged the people to extend co-operation, avail
the health care benefits for the well being of
the children.
Dr Kapangring, DIO, Ukhrul deliberated
on pentavalent vaccine which protects chil-
dren from 5 potentially deadly diseases (
diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B and
Hib).
He said that though polio has been eradi-
cated from India, there is a possibility of
re-emergence of the disease.
Sothing Shimray, president MHJU spoke about the fail-
ure of immunization programme in the district and urged the
medical staff members of the district to discharge their
duties efficiently.
