CPI STATE leader today expressed suspicion over the new move of the authority to replace Central Paramilitary Forces with the state security forces at polling stations across three Assembly segments in Thoubal district which are under the Inner Parliamentary constituency and lodged a complaint with the state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).
Mani Charenamei, the PDA candidate in the Outer constituency has also lodged a complaint with the CEO on the report of casting 100 % votes at the polling station 35/32-Athokpam under Khangabok A/C.Sources said that the authorities were re-arranging for deployment of more state security personnel like the IRB and MR and reducing the Central Security Forces at the polling stations across the three Assembly segments namely Wangkhem, Thoubal and Lilong A/Cs.
The move was against the earlier decision of using maximum CPMF in the protection of the polling stations by the election authority, source said as stating in the complaint note of the CPI today revealing that most of the state security men to be deployed were also those posting in the areas for long period of time.
A CPI leader said the deployment of state security forces in the three Assembly segments is apparently for doing whatever they like by the congress during the poll hours by using police personnel.
Police commandos dressed with MR and IRB uniforms are also deploying in the said places which add more to the doubt to the security arrangement, the CPI leader who did not want to name observed expressed quoting the contents of the complaint note to the CEO.
On the other hand, senior SP, Thoubal district, Clay Khongsai has issued an order handing over the overall security in-charge of the elections in the three Assembly Segments to BSF, M and C 1 Tech HQ commandant Sanjay Pand of Ningombam.
On the other hand, sitting MP to the outgoing Lok Sabha and contested the election to the Outer Manipur Parliamentary election has also lodged a complaint with the CEO on the report of 100% casting of vote in one of the polling stations, Athokpam under Khangabok A/C in Thoubal district.
In his complaint Charenamei stated that it was not possible to cast all the voters of a polling station.
The very polling station has 689 voters with 313 male and 386 female and all had casted the votes.
