The result of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2023 conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) was declared today with 82.82 pass percentage.
The result was declared by Education Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar at the office premises of BoSEM at Babupara.
Notbaly, this year's pass percentage is the highest in 10 years starting 2014.The pass percentage of last year was 76 .
This year, Ratankumar Memorial School, Kwakei-thel Heinoukhongnembi produced the maximum number of position holders with as many as 16 of its students bagging positions in the top 25 .
All the six students (2nd position shared by two students and 3rd position by three students) who bagged the top three positions are students of Ratankumar Memorial School.
Yengkhom Pareihanba, s/o Sukumar and Renu of Kwakeithel Heinoukhong-nembi secured the first position by accumulating 594 marks in the examination.
The second position, on the other hand, was shared by two students namely Omega Chanu Wangkhem d/o Sanjoy Meitei and Bedana Leima of Irengbam Mamang Awang Leikai and Venus Laiphrakpam d/o Sadananda Singh and Sobita Devi of Nambol Awang Leikai.
These two students scored 591 marks each.
Ophelia Chanu Ngangom d/o Basan Singh and Sandhyarani Devi; Sanchitra Thokchom d/o Birjit Singh and Premlata Devi of Thangmeiband Thingel Leikai and Silvia Mutum d/o Bashu Singh and Nanao Devi of Bamdiar Makha Leikai shared the third position by scoring 588 marks each.
None of the students from Government schools secured positions in this year's HSLC examination.
The total number of students who appeared for the examination was 37,870 (both external and internal) out of which 31,365 passed.
The pass percentage of male regular students (84.53 pc) is higher than the female's (83.45 pc) .
Altogether 18,142 male regular students appeared in the examination of which 15,355 passed while the number of female regular students who cleared the examination is 15, 476 out of 18,545 .
Among these passed students, 21,405 got first division while 9668 cleared the examination in second division.
292 others got third division.
Among the passed students, 5401 (8065 appeared) are students of Government schools.
The pass percentage of Government schools is 66.96 .
On the other hand, 1453 students of aided schools appeared in the examination of which 1187 got passed, thus registering a pass percentage of 81.69 .
The pass percentage of private schools is 87.39 and it is comparatively higher than Government and aided schools.
