COVID-19: AMSU forms task force

All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has formed a task force named "Mangal" to address the grievances of the masses during the lockdown which has been imposed by the Government to combat the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
AMSU raising deep concern about the growing number of COVID-19 cases in India, lauded the measures being taken up by the Government in tackling the disease.
The union also praised every individuals including doctors, nurses, medical staff, police personnel for their role in combating the contagious disease.
AMSU said that the newly launched task force will monitor the rise in price of essential commodities in shops and check if there is irregularities in distribution of food and other essential items sanctioned by the Government as relief measure.
The task force will also visit and inspect quarantine centres set up by the Government across the State, it added.
AMSU also appealed all concerned to avoid politics in this grim situation.
While seeking co-operation from all, it urged public to inform the task force if their is any case of unfair distribution of essential items or price hike on contact Nos 8794145874, 7005207090, 7005336714, 9089444104 .
AMSU also lauded the State Government for taking up proper measure to address the call of State natives who are stranded at various locations of the country.
The student body went on to urge the State Government to announce special package for those in distress and increase testing facilities for the new disease.
AMSU also appealed all to act responsibly and immediately stop stigmatization of victims of the new disease and all those who are working in the frontline.
