1000 COVID-19 testing kits donated to Shija hospital

Imphal, January 28 2021:
1000 COVID-19 testing kits were donated to Shija hospital today.
The donation was made jointly by Bikramjit Oinam, former president of United People's Front (UPF) and Jinine Laishramcha, asst professor, International College of South Korea.
Dr Palin said the number of COVID-19 was dwindling down in the State, however this does not mean we can let our guard down as there are instances where the second wave of the pandemic hit them after the first wave died out.
In such crucial time the donation of 1000 numbers of Seegene's Allplex 2019-ncov assay kit, which are highly accurate and are widely used in more than 60 countries, to the hospital is really appreciated.
He added that patients are tested before they are approved for any surgeries in the hospital OT and this testing kits will be highly beneficial.
Dr Palin also added that the testing kits donated to the hospital will be used for patients under Chief Minister gi Haksel, BPL categories and patients under Ayushmaan Bharat.
The test rate for COVID-19 is currently Rs 1400, but the testing kits donated will be used for financially backward patients in a subsidised rate, most likely below Rs 1000, he added.
Oinam Bikramjit said that Segeene company donated the testing kits under their humanitarian programme for the economically backward groups.
