Imphal, November 24 2010: The proscribed UNLF today said it celebrated its 46th foundation day widespread in the state as well as outside the state.

In a statement signed by its senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba dispatched today to the media houses, the UNLF claimed that the celebration functions were held at its Central Headquarters (CHQ), MPA General Headquarter, Battalion Headquarters, Tactical Headquarters, Task Force Headquarters and its different district headquarters and branch units.

The main function to mark the occasion was held at CHQ and MPA's GHQ.

Acting chairman of the outfit graced the function as chief guest.

Chief of Army Staff graced it as chief guest at a similar function held at MPA GHQ.

Saluting the cadres who sacrificed for the revolutionary struggle, offering of floral tributes and presenting the annual statement of the UNLF Central Committee marked the functions, the statement said.

The statement also expressed thanks to those people who greeted the party and its cadres on the occasion of its 46th foundation day acknowledging peoples' sentiments in pressing (India government) in disclosing the whereabouts of its chairman, RK Meghen aka Sanayaima after arrested in Dhaka by a combined team of RAW and its Bangladesh counterpart.

The statement also acknowledged the supports and encouragement received by the outfit from other like minded revolutionary groups when misfortune befell the party.

Lastly, the outfit expressed confidence that the day will come when the freedom struggle of the people of Manipur will achieve its ends.
