Imphal, April 01 2011:
The Naga People Organization's Committee on Census 2011 today expressed strong resentment on Census 2011 alleging that the Senapati District Administration has "intentional manipulative errors" on the on-going Bio-metrics process in some villages of the district.
The manipulation came to light in the final print of facts and copies of the 'Acknowledgment Receipt' of the bio-metrics issued by the Official/staff in respect of Makhrelui village.
Questioning the hidden designs and motives behind such an act, the committee has submitted a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner who is also the District Principal Operation Census.
The committee has demanded for immediate cancellation of the on-going process.
It has also asked the DC to book the culprits at the earliest but unfortunately the district administration has failed to address the complaint, a statement signed by its chairman ML Markson said.
The statement says, the DC had done it in collaboration with some anti-people elements trying to divert a Naga village to some irrelevant village like Makhrelui bollen Kuki, Viewland Bollen Kuki etc.
The general public has been actively co-operating with the process till date, but such an incident has jeopardized the whole exercise.
Alleging the hidden agenda of instigating communal tension in the district, the committee termed it as highly uncalled for.
Moreover, the committee condemns the arrogant and indifferent attitude of the DC who has till today not submitted the 2nd phase census documents.
Claiming that the committee represents the voice of the general public, the statement demanded the DC to intervene into the Bio-metrics issue at the earliest and initiate a fresh exercise.
It also demands the 2nd phase census report in respect of Senapati district be submitted at the earliest.
