Five vehicle lifters nabbed

Five members of a vehicle lifters' gang have been nabbed by Singjamei police along with three Honda Activa scooters.
Parading the vehicle lifters along with their booty before media persons at Singjamei police station, Kakwa today, Officer in-Charge K Sarat said that two youngsters were pulled up from Singjamei Super Market at about 6 pm of March 27 at the first instance.
They were pulled up in the course of an investigation launched in response to a written complaint about loss of a Honda Activa from Chingamathak Nameirakpam Leikai on March 18 .
OC Sarat identified the arrested duo as RK Naoba (26) of Singjamei Chirom Leikai and Meisnam Roji Singh (25) of Chingamakha Phuramakhong.
One Honda Activa of grey colour having no registration number was recovered from Naoba.
It has also been learnt that the same Honda Activa was lifted by Naoba and Roji from Moirangkhom Kabui Khul last month.

Acting on their disclosure, one RK Boy (26) was also pulled up from Lalambung Takhellambam Leikai residence on March 29.One Honda Activa (MN-01N/4972) was recovered from his possession.
Later, it was established that this Honda Activa was the one stolen from Chingamathak Nameirakpam Leikai on March 18, Inspector Sarat said.
On questioning, Boy revealed that he along with Roji and one Irengbam Gandhi of Pishum Ningom Leirak lifted another Honda Activa of maroon colour from Moirangthem Kabui Khul on December 22, 2009 .
Subsequently, Gandhi was pulled up from his home yesterday.
Further, one Salam Bikramjit of Nambol Bazar who was entrusted the task of selling the stolen Honda Activa's was pulled up from his home yesterday.
Another Honda Activa bearing registration number MN-1E/6989 was also recovered from Bikramjit's house.
Informing that all five of them are being detained in police custody, the OC disclosed that one Irengbam Mocha of Pishum Ningom Leirak who is a member of the gang is still at large.
Sarat added that further investigation was on.
