ADC Sadar Hills Chairman inaugurates developmental works in Motbung DCC

Kangpokpi, February 12 2019: Various developmental works undertaken by Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi at Motbung District Council constituency were inaugurated by ADC Sadar Hills Chairman in a grand ceremony held at Motbung today.

Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman ADC Sadar Hills inaugurated SL Shongkholen (SLS) UJB School, Toilet for both boys and girls, two waiting shed at Motbung via Lhangkichoi road and Motbung along NH-2, one public toilet and one market shed at Motbung Bazar, in the presence of Kaikhosei Lhouvum, local MDC who is also an Executive Member (Education) in ADC Sadar Hills.

The inauguration and dedication of the infrastructure was graced by Haokholal Hangshing as the chief guest while local MDC, Kaikhosei Lhouvum, Executive Member (Education) ADC Sadar Hills attended as the guest of honour and Pastor Thangkholun Haokip, Motbung Baptist Church attended as Dedication Minister.

The school constructed under DRDA Senapati was registered under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council.

Initially, the classes were first conducted in a community hall but with the unexpected enrolment of students, the school building was speedily completed to accommodate the students from this academic session.

More than 150 students were enrolled in the newly established and inaugurated SL Shongkholen (SLS) UJB school for the current academic session.

"It is not because of being a Government school that so many students got enrolled in the school but it is obviously the way children were taught by well-trained and qualified teachers introducing so many extra co-curricular activities in the school", said one parent who attended the inaugural function.

Earlier, ADC Sadar Hills Chairman inaugurated a public toilet constructed by Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council under 14th Finance Commission at Motbung Bazar which will definitely ease many difficulties and problems faced by the public in the past.

Motbung is a big commercial and educational hub where one of the oldest Colleges in the State, Presidency College was located.

Thanks to the District Council Administration, SHADC Kangpokpi for introduction and construction of public toilet which has been the extreme demand of the public in the past many years, he added.

Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman ADC Sadar Hills also inaugurated a market shed at Motbung bazar and also inaugurated two public waiting shed at Motbung via Lhangkichoi road and at Motbung along NH-2."Teachers must possess the quality to teach as education pattern has dramatically changed nowadays while family members must maintain a good family environment for their child to grow up with sharp mind and brain", Haokholal Hangshing asserted.

Many CSOs leaders apart from Motbung local bodies including Motbung Area Women Organization, Motbung Village Authority, etc also attended the inaugural function.
