Getting good marks in school and board examinations is not success.
Encourage children to stand up for themselves.
Teach them to be independent.
This is what success means, said former Lt Gen of Indian Army and MPSC Chairman Dr Konsam Himalay Singh.
He was speaking as chief guest at the 10th Annual Bright Children's Day of Bright Foundation Thoubal today.
Good marks have no value if the students are not able to stand up for themselves and lack integrity, he said appealing the guardians/parents and teachers to take extra care of their children in shaping them as responsible citizens.
He urged the students to work hard with dedication and inculcate good discipline and integrity.
"Those students who are disciplined and have integrity will succeed in life," he said.
Urging the students to take co-curricular activities seriously, he emphasised the importance of such activities in shaping personality.
Students of the school presented various cultural shows, children activities.
Meritorious students and winners of various competitions held earlier were awarded and honoured at the event.
Founder of Bright Foundation Thoubal Joy Oinam and ZEO Zone-III Thoubal MES Asem Rebica attended the event as presidium members.
Parents and guardians of the students attended the prog.
