Book on Naga culture released

Imphal, March 28 2012:
Naga Scholars' Association in collaboration with Dev Publishers & Distributors has facilitated the release of a book, NAGA CULTURE - FREE AGAINST THE ODDS, written by Frans Welman, a photojournalist and documentary film maker from Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Ngathingkhui Jagoi, a journalist from Dimapur, Nagaland, India.
The book was released by Sanjay Kak, acclaimed documentary film maker today, the 28th March 2012, at SSS-I Auditorium, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi at 4 pm.
Dr.Vibha Joshi, Research Fellow, Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology, Oxford University, U..Kand Visiting Fellow, JNU also attended the programme.
Speakers included Sanjay Kak, Ngathingkhui Jagoi, Dr.Athikho Kaisii, Assistant Professor, Centre for Culture, Media and Governance, Jamia Millia Islamia and Dr.Ritupan Goswami, Democratic Students' Union (DSU) and Dr.Shimreiwung Awungshi, Research Associate, North East Study Centre, JNU.
The programme was chaired by Dr..RVashum, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, IGNOU, and President, NSA, and vote of thanks was pronounced by Pankaj D.Jain from Dev Publishers & Distributors, Darya Ganj, New Delhi and Poujenlung Gonmei, Secretary, Naga Scholars' Association.
The book release programme ends with the refreshment served by the Naga Study Forum, JNU, New Delhi.
