Kohima, July 15 2016:
Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang has sought to clarify of the 12th Session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly that it had very short Session without transacting any important businesses such as "Question Hour." It may be mentioned that on the opening day of the Session on July 12, it lasted for 15 minutes and there had been a lot of negative publicity on the "short Session" as there was no "Question Hour" on many burning issues facing the State.
Addressing a press conference at the Assembly Committee Hall after the two-day Session was over on Thursday, the Chief Minister explained that it was up to the Members of the House to raise questions.
But if they did not put up any "Questions," they could not be forced to raise "Questions," the Chief Minister clarified.
Zeliang, however, described as "peaceful" the just concluded "two-day 12th Session" of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
When asked whether the party (read NPF) would serve show cause to any Member if they raised any "Question" in the Assembly as talks of such action were doing the round, the Chief Minister denied such development.
"Any Member is free and has every right to raise Question on the Floor of the Assembly," he stated and further asserted that they could not force any Member to raise any "Questions." It was up to them, he, mentioned.
