Imphal, July 15 2012:
With the results of the main exam of Manipur Civil Service conducted by Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) remaining undeclared even after 5 months, the candidates, who have appeared in the exam and their guardians, become worried.
After the advertisement for various vacant posts in different departments of the state government was published by MPSC in November 2, 2010, the preliminary exam was conducted on September 11, 2011 and the shortlisted candidates appeared in the main exam conducted from February 6 to 22, 2012 .
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, some of the candidates who are waiting for the results of the main exam said that even though there were certain problems regarding handling of the exam initially, all of them have been solved eventually.
But declaration of the results has been kept withheld till date.
Questioning whether there is there any hidden agenda behind withholding the results, the worried candidates pointed out that the declaration of the results of Civil Service Exams conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) hardly takes more than four months.
So it is quite astonishing as to why MPSC is taking more than 5 months to declare the results of an examination in which just 725 candidates had appeared, which is much lower than the number of candidates appeared in the UPSC conducted Civil Service Exam. They observed that the attitude of MPSC in withholding declaration of the results of the examination, which would determine the career of 725 candidates is not trustworthy.
So, the Chairman of MPSC should be held sole responsible for any unwanted incidents over delay in declaration of the exam results.
The trust which the people of the state have on the Commission may be lost if such attitudes continue.
As such the Commission should be declared the results at the earliest, the candidates pleaded.
