Differences should be abolished through education: Minister Okendro

"Education should act as the driving force for bringing about love and friendship among the different communities settling in the state by doing away with the differences", Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro has exclaimed.
Minister M Okendro was speaking to media persons on the sideline of inspecting the newly constructed FCI godown in Senapati and various other educational Institutions of the district.
An official team of government officials led by Minister M Okendro today conducted an inspection tour of Senapati district to take stock of the existing condition of various educational institutions.
First of all, the team inspected the process of the FCI godown being constructed at Mayangkhang.
The capacity of the godown is 5000 MT.
After that, the team went to inspect Sadar Patel High School at Mao.
Later, the Minister attended the fresher's meet function of Ashufu Christian Institute at Punanamei, Mao.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Minister M Okendro exhorted that we should all try to bring about a good system of education in the state without any differentiation between private schools and government schools.
He also stressed on the need to develop Ashufu Christian Institute, since it is a school located in an area bordering Nagaland.
"The school should be developed in such a way that the students from Nagaland are attracted to come for study", the Minister said.
The Minister further observed that education should be the melting point of all the differences among various communities settling in the society.
We should all be bound together by Cultural Integrity and Education tourism.
The Minister assured that all possible means would be employed to impart education to all the children living in far flung and hilly areas.
The process can be more easily accomplished if the MLAs of all the 60 constituencies of the state come together and see that every institute in their respective constituencies is at their best.
He further informed the gathering that the FCI godown constructed at Mayangkhang will be inaugurated by October this year.
The function was presided by MLA L Dikho.
Later, the Minister also inspected Hill College at Tadubi, where classes have resumed after a gap of more than 10 years.
There, the Minister assured that necessary infrastructural development would be taken care of.
Wrapping up the inspection tour, the Education Minister attended the Fresher's meet function of Mount Everest College, Senapati, where he announced that discussion on providing grant-in-aid to the college would be initiated.
The function was presided over by MLA Alexpander Pao.
Prof N Joykumar of MU and Dr RK Ranjan, Director, College Development Council, MU were also present on the occasion.
Yaiskul, Director of CAF and PD; Thoiba, Deputy General Manager of ADCI, Imphal and other top officials of Education Department were part of the inspection team.
