Committee alleges negligence

Thanga Kendra Development Committee has alleged the State Government of neglecting the patients who were admitted to Thanga PHC after they complained of food poisoning.
Speaking to mediapersons at Manipur Press Club, Moirang Kendra Development Committee convenor H Kulachandra said that more around 200 people including children who participated in Utsav suffered food poisoning.
Around 100 of them were admitted to Thanga Primary Health Centre.
The PHC has only 10 beds, 2 doctors and 3 nurses of which some were referred to JNIMS and RIMS.
"Till now, the State Government has failed to take any steps to ease the suffering of the patients who are undergoing treatment in Thanga PHC.
Such negligence is condemnable," he added.
The committee has also submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister, he said.
