Awareness on AHVY held in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, October 22 2014:
An awareness programme on Ambedkar Hastaship Vikas Yojana (AHVY) organized by local based UDHAHCOF was held on Wednesday at Ukhrul town hall.
Ukhrul deputy commissioner Hrisheekesh Modak Arvind attended as chief guest and 41 Assam Rifles commandant Col.Gaurav Bose as the functional president of the programme.
The guests of honour were H/C DC (H) MSEC assistant director T.Rollee Vareishim, DHTO project manager Dwijamani Singh, Task Force Committee (Ukhrul) chairman Th Minaketan Singh and CS sub-registrar Shomring Leisan.
In an address as the chief guest, Hrisheekesh lauded the UDHAHCOF for the various efforts in promoting local handicrafts and creating avenues for livelihood to many local people.
The AHVY programme was today organized under the aegis of scheme of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) government of India, Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi.
More than 500 artisans mostly women from different clusters took part in the daylong programme.
Earlier, the Sales Depot and Museum of UDHAHCOF was inaugurated by Ukhrul DC at Phungreitang West locality.
The Aja Daily editor Valley Rose Hungyo, who is also UDHAHCOF advisor, moderated the programme, while the introductory speech was delivered by Janeth Hungyo and the vote of thanks was pronounced by UDHAHCOF convenor S.Raiping.
