Senapati, December 16 2017:
Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of I & B, Govt of India, Senapati unit organised a one day special outreach awareness programme on Mission Indradhanush, Mission Parivar Vikas, Tuberculosis and Leprosy at Bilei Village community hall, Kangpokpi district yesterday .
The programme was attended by ADC, Kangpokpi Member, Thongjalun Mate, Chairman of Bilei Village, Thangneo and IIS Regional Director (N&M), DFP, Kohima, Mangjangam Touthang as dignitaries .
Mangjangam Touthang delivered the keynote address and highlighted the important of DFP in field activities and on disseminating various Central sponsored scheme while FPO, Senapati, A Sankhil George shared words of appreciation .
Speaking at the occasion as a resource person District Immunization Officer, Dr J Touthang elaborated the benefit of immunization and family planing .
He also stated the advantage of seven steps prevention of diseases, by taking proper immunization, to the PHC's and CHC's along with guidance of ASHA's .
District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr Joykumar briefed about the cause and effect of TB and Leprosy .
He asked the villagers to keep themselves neat and clean in order to prevent all types of diseases including TB and Leprosy .
He urged the public to give a test at the nearest PHCs and CHCs, if they cough repeatedly for more then two weeks and appealed to give cooperation to the Health Dept for the successful implementation of various health services and initiatives .
Thonjalun Mate who is also the chief guest of the function, opined that the people should come forward and have knowledge about health benefits while stating that people who participated in the programme should spread the message to others, who have not received any knowledge or have availed any health benefits .
He lauded Directorate of Field Publicity and District Medical Team and MO in charge of Saikul CHC for conducting such important programme for the villagers and for the well-being of rural mass .
During the programme, a healthy baby competition for the age group of 0-1 year and 1-2 years was also held.
