Imphal, December 16 2017:
he All Manipur Village Defence Force Welfare Association has made several demands from the State Government, including release of a two-month honorarium .
Addressing to reporters at the press meet at the Manipur Press Club today, the association’s president Laishram Deban conveyed that the association has decided to make four demands from the State Government .

He informed the demands as first, the completion of the process of Computerisation of Personnel Information Systems (CPIS) forms at the earliest; second, the revision of honorarium in view of the 7th Pay Commission to be implemented in the State in addition to the release of honoraria for November and December; third, the establishment of a separate VDF battalion; and fourth, the discontinuation of provisional tax deduction of Rs 1200 in a year from the salary of VDF personnel .
Decrying that the State's Finance Department has been preventing the release of honorarium for November 2017 in many districts on the ground that CPIS verification process for the VDF personnel is yet to be completed, Deban urged the State Government and its authorities concerned to complete the process at the earliest .
The State Government has been conducting the CPIS verification in order to identify the number of genuine VDF personnel who are actively engaged in the service .
Reminding that the Government had announced the salaries for December for other State employees will be released from November 18 in view of Christmas, Deban urged the Government to release the VDF's honorarium for December as well .
Asserting that the VDF personnel are made to work like the MR, IRB and MPs but by giving a meagre amount as honorarium, the president demanded that the Government should increase the honorarium with the implementation of 7th Pay Commission.
He also insisted that the Government should establish a separate VDF battalion and stop the annual deduction of Rs 1200 from VDF's honorarium saying their actual honorarium is only Rs 6000 without ration money.
He maintained that Rs 1200 is deducted from the State Government employees whose salary is Rs 7000 and more per month.
