Vehicle associations resolve not to file Court cases against each other

Imphal, December 16 2017:
The registered societies of passenger vehicles including Diesel Auto, Tata Iris, Jeep etc plying along Changamdabi, Yaambem, Angtha, Poiroukhongjin Kaina routes, have unanimously decided not to file court cases against each other, during a joint meeting held today at Pureiromba community hall, Andro Bazar .
The meeting was organised by Immortal Jeep, Diesel Auto, Tata Magic Taxi Owner's Cooperative Society Ltd in association with Yairipok Thambalnu Diesel Auto, Tata Iris Transport Cooperative Society Ltd and executive members of different societies, drivers and vehicle owners attended and deliberated on the inconveniences and problems faced by them while conducting their service along the said routes under Yairipok .
The meeting unanimously decided not to file any court cases against each other and to follow the guidelines given by their respective societies .
A sum of Rs 5 lakh will be fined to the society which decides to fight a court case against any other society, it added .
Meanwhile, the meeting condemned the news report which was published in the local daily on December 15 stating that the drivers would cease service if they do not work under a society .
Speaking to media persons, All Yairipok Drivers Association general secretary L Surjit assured that there is no conflict between the two associations and urged all those concerned to discuss any matter with the associations if they would like to express their dissatisfaction .
Condemning the action of one driver who tried to tarnish the image of both associations, he appealed all the members as well as drivers and owners of all the passenger societies and associations not to repeat the same in the future.
