In tune with the steps being taken up to improve the economic condition of the country, the Government of Manipur has also set up a State Monitoring Committee with the Chief Secretary as the chairman to speed up economic activities in the State.
The Committee has been set up along with an order issued by the Chief Secretary on March 20.Additional Chief Secretary (Planning), Principal Secretary (Finance) and Principal Secretaries/ Commissioners/ Secretaries in charge of the Departments concerned involved in implementation of various developmental programmes and schemes have also been appointed as the members of the Committee of which the Joint Director (Planning) would be the Member Secretary.
Even if the Model Code of Conduct of the election has already been enforced, the Committee would monitor to ensure there is no delay at any stage in the clearance of various developmental programmes and schemes to be taken up in the State while complying with the Election Model Code of Conduct.
In case of any problems that may encounter in this regard, the Principal Secretary (Finance) would be appointed as the State Nodal Officer to co-ordinate in resolve the matter between the Election Commission, Chief Electoral Officer and the Cabinet Secretariat.
