TSA-GHQ calls off agitation

Imphal, September 20 2017:
Following an understanding with the Chief Minister in a meeting today, the Thadou Students’ Association, (TSA-GHQ), Imphal called off their planned agitation .
The association submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister N Biren on September 18 regarding the killing of two surrendered ULTA/ULTF cadres and one pregnant woman on September 17 .
During the meeting, a group of TSA members led by its secretary general Michael Lamjathang Haokip represented the victim’s family met with N Biren who acknowledged the concerns and demands of the association .
It has been assured that the Jiribam police has taken up the case to nab the culprits at the earliest .
A sum of Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia will be provided to each family of the victims, conveyed a press release issued today by secretary joint of the association .
“It was also agreed that the State Government will soon hold a meeting with ULTA/ULTF and establish a long-term rehabilitation for the surrendered cadres and leaders .
Meanwhile, the deceased bodies were buried today afternoon.
