Imphal, July 05 2011:
Five like minded-music loving school going students initiated to form a rock band five years ago when they started to listen the then rock band Dazzle City's Angel Lady and Krad O' Beats Waiting.
In fact these young minds were hooked when these songs were telecast in the local cable TV channel.
Without delay in a move to showcase the music loving instinct --they formed a new alternative rock band called 'Sandrembee' in 2006 .
"That time we're all studying 10+2 in the Manipur Public School," says Eroz Laishram(23)the founder member and vocalist of 'Sandrembee'.
"We just want to be part of those voices heard by the masses.
Thus the band was formed. But we're aiming high to rock the national and other arenas" .
Now these young minds who had been undergoing professional courses in different institutions in different places across the country brings out their own audio cover--Miscalculation and Cosmic Catastrophe, which features as many as fourteen metal and alternative rock tracks, during a simple gathering at Hotel Imphal hall amidst the drizzling of July 2 evening.
It was a never ending journey for these five childhood friends since their primary levels.
"Recording new songs is a difficult task as we got the chance to see each other during the vacation twice a year", narrates Eroz, prior to their album releasing show.
"So we coordinated through internet by sending even the songs in MP3 format. Thus we had our first recording in 2008 followed by our debut at METRONOME concert 2009" .
After getting a degree in biotechnology,Eroz is undergoing his first year of masters in international business in Bangalore while drummer brother Richardson is doing engineering course in Chennai.
Bass guitarist Themis Thoudam got a master's degree in biotechnology also from Chennai and is preparing to do a PhD while guitarist Chingkhei Nameirakpam,is doing his BSc through IGNOU correspondence course.
To these young rock music lovers, unlike those in the late eighties, playing music mostly the alternative to metal tracts is something that they really wanted to share their livelihood experiences in the land locked trouble torn north eastern Indian state with those residing outside the state.
With its existing socio-political issues, Manipur is known as a disturbed land outside the state.
But these musicians who presently considers--playing music is not for their bread and butter but to air the tales of the present Manipur in the music medium.
Chaotic Theory,a song in the album, describes the issue of inner line permit system in Manipur while Revolt, another metal track reminds the public voice against the violence.
Similarly Metal agea reincarnated version of the then popular heavy metal band Post Mark talks about the state's unrest scenario, Gangraped, describes how girls from the Northeast are raped and molested in big cities like Delhi.
