Imphal, January 23:
Following the imposition of an indefinite chakka bandh on the Imphal-Pukhao-Saikul road by the Joint People's Committee Against the Arrest of L Romi and L Boicha from last mid night, vehicular movement on the said route was greatly affected with both public transporters as well as private vehicles staying off the road.
However, the bandh did not have any effect on the Imphal-Ukhrul road and passenger buses as well as private vehicles were seen moving without any hindrances.
Mention may be made here that JPC had called the chakka bandh to protest against the prolonged detention of L Romi and L Boicha by personnel of 19 Assam Rifles.
