Rain brings reprieve to searing heat

Imphal, July 19 2019:
After the maximum temperature reached nearly 37 degree Celsius yesterday, the State capital recorded a maximum temperature of 35.92 degree and received a rainfall of 9.2 mm today as per the report of Directorate of Environment Climate Change Cell.
According to the report, minimum temperature at Imphal West was 23.3 with a humidity level of 34.04 to 92.89 while the mercury touched 35.89 degree C (maximum ) and 24.04 degree C (minimum) at Imphal East, receiving a rainfall of 1mm.Maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at different districts were 32.69 and 24.02 degrees C at Bishnupur; 33.66 and 21.21 degrees C at Churachandpur; 34.51 and 22.15 degrees C at Kakching; 33.17 and 22.61 degrees C at Kangpokpi; 36.33 and 24.19 degrees C at Noney; 31.19 and 22 degrees C at Senapati; 24.18 and 19.43 at Tengnoupal, rainfall was recorded at 6.44mm in the district; 37.05 and 20.32 degrees C at Tengnoupal with a record of 0.4mm rainfall and 24.09 and 17.44 degree C at Ukhrul.
Ukhrul received a rainfall of 1mm, however, there was no rainfall at Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Noney and Senapati.
