The United Pukhao Area Committee has said that they would launch different forms of intense agitations if the State Government fails to take up necessary actions to rescue the JCB excavator driver abducted for ransom by suspected KNF (D) cadres within May 9 .
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club, committee general secretary Okram Saratchandra said that driver Khumanthem Tondonba (23) s/o Kwaklei of Pukhao Naharup, who is engaged in PMGSY road construction works, was abducted from Bongbal Khullen in Singhat sub-division at around 1.30 pm on May 3 .
He further said that after his abduction, the committee went to Churachandpur and held talks with various CSO leaders.
The village chief also extended support to them but despite this, Tondonba is still in the captivity of his abductors, he said.
Saying that Tondonba is the bread winner of his family, the committee urged the outfit to release him safely.
He appealed to all the CSOs, both hill and valley, to fight the outfits which abduct people for ransom.
Such incidents would create tensions between hill and valley people, he said.
