Tampi recorded the highest and Savaipaih the lowest polling

The highest poll percentage in the re-poll held yesterday in the five hill districts of Manipur was recorded in polling station number 41/40- Tampi under Chandel district at 98.98% while the lowest poll percentage was recorded in polling station number 56/3-Savaipaih under Chrachandpur district at 34.92%. According to reports received from the State Election Office, out of the total number of 591 voters in Tampi polling station, 585 voters cast their votes.
This polling station had witnessed bloodshed in the recently held election on January 28 last where 7 persons were killed in a shoot out inside the polling station.
Among all the polling stations where re-poll was held yesterday, the polling station number 55/1-Chingmun of Tipaimukh A/C under Churachandpur district has only 145 voters of which 98 voters came out to cast their votes.
The polling materials and polling personnel who were engaged in the re-poll have reached their respective district headquarters.
The sealed EVMs have been kept in the strong room and it is being guarded by security forces.
Meanwhile, the process for checking the photos of the voters taken during the time of casting their votes and the photos in the electoral roles is in progress.
The process is being carried out in the DC offices where the ROs are also being engaged.
