One Haoshu, who was going from Chandel to Imphal, informed Hueiyen Lanpao that whatever be the circumstances it was not the right approach to burn down vehicles or call bandhs.
Both the acts which caused lot of inconveniences to the common people deserved to be condemned in the strongest terms.
The government should come up with certain strategies so as to avoid further damage to vehicles and other public properties along Imphal-Moreh road, Haoshu demanded.
A security personnel deployed along Imphal-Moreh road said that the Home Department has made security arrangement along Imphal-Moreh road from 8am to 4pm every day.
However, vehicles plying along the road after 4 pm cannot be safeguarded as the security personnel are not deployed along the stretch of road after 4 pm.
The security personnel appealed to all passenger carrying vehicles to cross Pallel check post before 4 pm.
A spokesperson of the Tata Sumo and Van Welfare Association, Kakching informed Hueiyen Lanpao that a Tata Sumo and a Bolero were intercepted and burnt down by suspected cadres of NSCN-IM in between Bongyang and Thamnapokpi on July 11 after all the passengers and drivers were dragged out.
The armed cadres also took away money, mobiles phones and other valuables from the drivers and the passengers.
Such act of harassing innocent people is condemnable.
