Nungsai Village Authority refutes report

The Longsai (Nungsai) Village Authority, Nungba subdivision has refuted the news report which appeared in Oct 4 edition of this paper about the alleged damage caused to crops of Joujangtek by Longsai Tairenpokpi villagers.
Dismissing the report as false and baseless, a statement issued by the chief of Longsai village, G Poujanglung accused the headman of Joujangtek of creating discord between the two villages since he took the charge of Headman of Joujangtek village in 2006 .
Further, Poujanglung accused Joujangtek villagers along with some unidentified armed men dismantled the house of one Athon Gonmei on the night of August 22 and assaulted a person who was staying there.
The statement also clarified that the barbed fencing wire near Longsai was removed for the sake of peace and tranquillity and no damage was done to it while also accusing Joujangtek villagers of encroaching the land of Longsai every now and then.
On the matter of a gunfire heard from the direction of Longsai village on October 3, the statement further dismissed the allegation as false.
The gun shot was also heard by Longsai villagers on that day, which could have been opened by hunters at Phoinaphang side across the Leimatak river, it clarified while denying that the shot was from Longsai.
The Longsai VA is also not convinced about the claim that the ZU president and KI Tamenglong president visiting Joujangtek.
