JDDC supporters stop vehicles, unload goods

Jiribam, December 02 2016:
Goods loaded vehicles were stopped at Gularthol bazar by suspected Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) supporters today.
The JDDC imposed economic blockade on NH37 from November 1 to press their demand for creation of Jiribam as a full fledged revenue district.
Suspected JDDC supporters stopped incoming vehicles from Tamenglong and departing vehicles at Gularthol bazar at arounf 11 am.

The blockade supporters pulled down gas cylinders, vegetables, and other items from passenger vehicles and DI trucks.
In the process, a woman was held with explosives components by the blockade supporters. The woman, Lhingnei Khongsai (35), w/o Latkholal Khongsai, of Kaimai village presently residing at Mizoram Belkhothiel, along with the seized items � 13 gelatin sticks (Neogel 90), one fuse wire (2 feet 3 inches long), 21 detonator, Rs 8,680 in cash, and a Nokia handset, were handed over to Jiri police.
