Churachandpur, December 02 2016:
The Bharatiya Janata Party conducted a booth level conference and political awareness campaign at Henglep AC and Churachandpur AC today, our correspondent reports.
At Simte Inn, under Churachandpur AC, intending candidate K Paukhansuan hosted a booth level conference cum mass enrolment in an effort to secure party ticket.
Th Chaoba, who attended the conference along with the district BJP president K Vungzalian and other party dignitaries, hurled a barrage of criticism against the incumbent Government on the way it is handling the State's affairs.
He blames the Congress party for the prolonged economic blockade imposed by the UNC.
"If the Government can deploy huge posse of security personnel at such short notice, why was that not done at the very onset of the blockade? The Chief Minister had said that he is seeking the Centre's help but he doesn't seem to know what kind of help he is in need of", Chaoba said.
"The (Congress led) Government is responsible for the killing of the nine Tribal Martyrs who are still awaiting burial even after one year", he said and called on the people of Churachandpur AC to unseat the congress MLAs who he said gobbles up public fund and amenities for their personal benefit.
Chaoba continued his campaign to unseat the ruling Congress at Senpangzar village under Henglep AC where Letzamang Haokip's election committee was holding a political awareness campaign.
Here as well, he accused the Congress led State Government of being weak and dishonest.
Over 50 village chiefs turned-up at the campaign that was also attended by the party's district president and general secretary.
Lalkhopau, who had contested the Assembly election twice, also turned up along with a large number of party officials and social leaders.
Letzamang left his job at DRDA Churachandpur to contest the election.
Another intending candidate K Paukhansuan was a former editor of a vernacular magazine and a social worker.
