PRJA launches online crowdfunding platform

People's Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA), a political party formed under the leadership of the anti-AFSPA crusader Irom Sharmila, has launched its online crowdfunding platform to finance election expenses.
The online crowdfunding platform was formally launched during a programme held in association with Khetto today at Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai, Imphal.
Khetto is an online fundraising website based in Mumbai which primarily assists to raise funds for social (NGOs/non-profits/charities), creative (movies/music/theatre/fashion/technology) and personal (health/education/travel) causes from a large number of people.
Khetto is among the largest online fund raising websites in Asia.

Addressing at the function, convener of PRJA Erendro Leichombam said, "PRJA is the first political party of Manipur to seek fund through online crowdfunding format" .
The movement of PRJA has both the social and political angle so Khetto has agreed to partner with PRJA to raise funds for the political campaign in the upcoming Assembly election, he added.
Meanwhile Irom Sharmila commented that the concept of using money power and muscle power to win election is outdated.
"To bring a change, people should share equal responsibility to elect only the right and dutiful person who can work for the State and people," she said.
She also urged the people to elect leaders who will serve the people better.
The anti-AFSPA crusader continued that she has plans to visit various parts of the State and connect with all the people and spread the message and ideology of PRJA.
She added that PRJA is committed to fight in the 11th Manipur Assembly election with an aim to tackle the issues of corruption, unemployment, divisive politics and AFSPA.
PRJA stands for Manipur's interests and issues.
It is the party of the Manipuris.
On the other hand, co-convener of PRJA James M said that it is time for people of Manipur to change the outdated system of electoral politics which is based on corruption and money laundering by wealthy people.
PRJA will use the funds donated by the public appropriately.
In this 21st century, buying a vote is an outdated concept.
In the upcoming PRJA will contest in five Assembly Constituencies, he added and urged the people to donate through www.prja.in.
The function was also attended by PRJA executive member Bowang Kho and PRJA treasurer Najma Bibi.
