Imphal, December 30 2016:
MLA GS Haopu, elected from Singngat Assembly segment, has hailed the incumbent Government led by Chief Minister O Ibobi as the only Government which took up maximum number of development programmes, irrespective of whether it were in the hill districts or valley districts.
He was speaking at a Congress workers' meet held today at Langol Phaipijang village which was attended by over 1000 Congress workers from Singngat AC.
GS Haopu went on to claim that Congress party would emerge victorious in the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly election and the party would not find any difficulty in forming the next Government.
He predicted that BJP would occupy the Opposition bench.
Creation of five new districts in the hill areas and two in the valley area testified that the Government is more concerned about development of hill areas.
The State Government headed by Chief Minister O Ibobi has opened a police station in Singngat AC despite the remoteness of its location.
Plans are also afoot to upgrade Primary Health Sub Centres located within Singngat AC to the level of Primary Health Centres.
Development of Churachandpur-Sugnu road has been enlisted in the work programme.
Construction of Singngat-Sinzawl road would be started from January/February next year, Haopu said.
All the families of Singngat AC are Christians and election of a BJP candidate would amount to sending their representative to the Opposition bench, he added.
The BJP candidate, even if he/she gets elected, would not be able to take up any development programme, Haopu continued.
He then called upon all Congress workers to work collectively to ensure victory of Congress party in the forthcoming election.
