Two-day training programme on mobile fertilizer monitoring system (mFMS) was inaugurated today at Hotel Imphal.
Organised by the State Department of Agriculture, the programme was graced by G Shamu Kabui, Director of Agriculture and RK Tara Devi, Principal System Analyst (NIC) as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, G Shamu Kabui said that mobile fertilizer monitoring system is a system initiated by the Government of India to ease the problem faced by farmers due to unavailability of fertilizers on time.
He said mobile phones of farmers would be registered under the mobile fertilizer monitoring system so that the farmers are updated on the availability of fertilizers.
This will prevent bootlegging of fertilizers by some vested concerned and thereby ensure availability of fertilizers to farmers without any delay.
RK Tara Devi said the mobile fertilizer monitoring system is another mean to directly deliver fertilizers to farmers.
The programme was also attended by System Officer of BVFCL, Namrup, C Kakati besides District Agriculture Officers, Master Trainers and officials of the department.
