He might have no mobility, poor speech coupled with dysfunctional upper limbs due to cerebral palsy, but he has authored three books, a feat that can never be achieved by most normal individuals.
A severe quadriplegic and foot writer, Satyakumar Sanjenbam (58) has come out with his third book entitled 'Thamoi Wareng' today.
His book was released at the office of Spastic Society of Manipur located at Ghari here with DC of Imphal West, K Radhakumar Singh as the chief guest.
Besides doing foot paintings on Manipuri culture and other social issues, Satyakumar has authored two other books namely Mimannadrabagi Thengthakkol (1999) and Pukhingee Tengtha Leichal, a collection of poems published in 2006.Remarkably, all his books were foot-written.
Though he did not receive formal education in school or formal training in art and painting, Satyakumar has done foot paintings with much aesthetic finery.
It was at the initiative of Spastic Society of Manipur that his works was exposed not long back.
Former Governor of the State, SS Sidhu; Chief Minister O Ibobi, Lok Sabha Speaker, Meira Kumar; former CS of Manipur, Jarnail Singh; former Minister and MLA Korungthang were among others, in the lists of VIPs who adored and appreciated his works.
The Spastic Society also felicitated Athokpam Cameroon, a hearing impaired who won a Gold medal in the junior category of AR Equestrian Cup 2012 at the occasion.
The programme was also graced by Ng Tejkumar Singh, Director of Prosecution and A Guneshwar Sharma as the president and guest of honour respectively.
