Local bodies of Kpi DHQs are backbones of the district: Nemcha Kipgen

Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen met local bodies of Kangpokpi District Headquarters at her newly constructed residential house in Kangpokpi DHQs, today.
17 ward members led by the Kangpokpi Town Committee chairman, Lunseh Kipgen; members of Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization led by presi dent Hekim Hangshing and members of Kangpokpi Youth Union led by presi dent Haolet Khongsai attended the meeting chaired by the local MLA.
MLA Nemcha Kipgen expressed her gratitude to all the local bodies for their support and help in the fight against COVID-19 .
She stated that without the help of the local bodies of Kangpokpi District Head quarters, the District Administration's effort to contain the pandemic would not be successful.
"The local bodies of Kangpokpi District Head quarters are the backbone of the District", she added.
She appealed to the leaders of the local bodies to be an ambassador and torch bearer of constructive development, peaceful coexistence and harmony in the district.
The MLA stated that regular meetings and discussions on various issues with the local bodies and the District Administration will bring better coordination and cooperation with the people.
The development of all the Subdivisions are essential for the overall development of the District.
She also gave 450 plastic chairs to the local bodies as a Christmas gift.
Lunseh Kipgen, chairman Kangpokpi Town Committee said that the present local bodies under the aegis of Kangpokpi Town Committee especially all the members of the Kangpokpi Town Committee are committed for the development and upliftment of the town.
The KTC chairman also pointed out the lack of proper and sufficient water supply in the town.
He conveyed the need to check whether, all the departments are functioning accordingly and properly.
The local bodies expressed their appreciation to the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen for bringing peace ,harmony and development in the district.
As a part of the programme, Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization and Kangpokpi Youth Union presented a traditional shawl 'Saipi Khup' to the local MLA as a Christmas Gift.
The meeting culminated with a Christmas feast.
