Jiribam, May 31 2017:
Aggrieved people of Uchathol, Jiribam swarmed the 50-bedded Jiribam hospital today when a negotiation between authorities and the protesters failed yesterday.
A joint meeting with the protesters and a medical team including Additional Director of Medical and Health Dr S Manikanta and Dr P Shyam could not come to a unanimous conclusion.During the meeting, the protesters demanded adequate human resources for the hospital and for assurance from the authority regarding the stay of the doctors transferred to Jiribam. However the medical team expressed that the staff and manpower can be provided only after the authority concerned declares the result of the selected candidates for the various posts.
The protesters expressed discontent after the medical team failed to assure them that the doctors who were transferred to Jiribam but still have not joined work would not stay.
