Imphal, December 30 2016:
State executive member of BJP, Pangeijam Saratchandra has alleged that corruption will increase greatly because of the Congress Government's massive recruitment drive as it nears its political end.
The Heingang A/C BJP intending candidate for the 11th State Assembly election made the claim at a public meeting organised by the Women Wing of Development and Resource Mobilisation at Awang Potsangbam Khunou.
He alleged that the only aim of the massive recruitment drive carried out by the State Government is to earn money and nothing else.
"Though initially shell-shocked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation of Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes, the State Government is yet again trying to earn profit through devious means", he accused.
Pointing out the rampant corruption, Saratchandra said that he will not charge even a single rupee from the people for jobs if he is elected.
The BJP activist who has 26 years of experience as a teacher under his belt asked the people to think about what the Congress Government has done for developing Heingang A/C, Awang Potsangbam in particular, during its 15 years rule.
Saratchandra said, "The party ticket will be given only to those sure shot candidates".
How can anyone who entered through the backdoor using illegal means even dream of getting the party's ticket?", he asked.
"Constructing and renovating the roads of Awang Potsangbam will be the first thing I do if I get elected in the coming Assembly election", he added.
