Imphal, March 28 2012:
The armed KLO/KLA has clarified that Satkithang Kipgen of Saikul, who was arrested by security forces in connection with the abduction of one Khurailakpam Ibungo of Churachandpur Khumujamba Meitei Leikai for ransom, has nothing to do with the outfit at present.
While conceding that Satkithang Kipgen had been a KLA cadre holding the rank of Sergeant Major, KLO/KLA's Information and Publicity secretary Alen Kuki told some newspersons at a Saikul area today that the same individual was placed under suspension for his involvement in various anti-party activities and abduction-for-ransom cases before he was finally terminated from the organisation in December last.
Informing that Satkithang Kipgen's other name (alias) should be Ranjit, the secretary construed that identifying the accused person as Satkithang Kipgen alias Timothy seemed to be a deliberate campaign to malign KLO/KLA general Timothy.
Asserting that in order to facilitate political dialogue the KLO/KLA had been strictly adhering to the suspension of operation ground rules, he also cautioned that any individual or group trying to tarnish image of one of the oldest Kuki revolutionary organisations would be given befitting punishment.
Alen further informed that the outfit's cadres Hangminshang Khongsai alias henry and Doujapao Khongsai alias Japao have been discharged from the KLO/KLA on medical ground.
