Kpi CSOs oppose

Kangpokpi, November 21 2020:
Civil society organisations of Kangpokpi district including Thadou Inpi, Gangte Inpi, KSO Sadar Hills, TSA Sadar Hills and KWU Sadar Hills under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District have raised opposition to joint demarcation/survey with Imphal West in connection with the widening and improvement of Imphal-Kohima section of NH-2 within Kangpokpi district.
The various civil society organisations under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District submitted a joint memorandum in connection with the aforementioned issue today to the Chief Minister stating that their stand over the issue may be treated as final and uncompromisable.
It stated that with reference to the DC Imphal West Order No DC(IW)/6/7/I-K/LA/19 dated 18th November, 2020, the civil society organisations under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District steadfastly opposed such a 'diktat' that goes against the administration of one district or supersede the authority of one administration.
"We shall not allow any joint demarcation/survey in Kangpokpi district and any such work deemed necessary shall be executed by Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi in consultation with the CSOs of Kangpokpi district, it added.
Mentioned may be made that, the Deputy Commissioner, Collector, LA, Imphal West N Praveen Singh on November 18 issued an order in pursuance of Secretariat Revenue Department letter No LA-104/3/2020-REV-REVENUE dated 5th November, 2020 for a joint field demarcation/survey to be conducted wef November 23 along the stretches of NH-2 bordering Imphal West and Kangpokpi district in connection with the widening and improvement of Imphal-Kohima road.
In the order, DC/Collector, LA Imphal West also detailed SDO Lamsang and SDC Sekmai to conduct the joint field survey along with officials of Kangpokpi district and submit a detailed report to him at an early date.
